Long Gone Are The Days
It's been awhile since my last update on this humble blog of mine.

Recapped of what has happened the last few months;

1) I'm finally a confirmed staff as of 9th July 2007 (Yippeee!!! Pay has been reviewed!!!)

2) Our marriage hit the 5th year on 31st Aug 2007 (let's hope many more years like these to come...)

3) Our company had many projects coming in and we hit more than we expected!!!

4) My boss gave us a very generous incentive for that hardwork and it came just in time for my festive. Thank you Boss!!!

5) We had Ramadhan for the whole month of September 2007 (okay, so i missed a few days of not fasting)

6) I finally manage to get my ex-GYSS mates (well most of it) and organize a Ramadhan Iftar (reads = dinner) That was a success!!!

7) Hubby was given a project during the Ramadhan and the money was GOOD! Thank God for that... It was more than enough for our festive.

8) We celebrated Syawal on 13th October 2007 and had loads of fun visiting and eating. And for the kids - money collecting ;)

"I would like to chance this oppprtunity to wish all my Muslim friends, and to all my non-Muslim friends, hope you had a great holiday..."

9) The exams are finally over now = no more stressful me!

10) I'm putting on weight at all the wrong places!!! Sigh...

Okaylah, to be frank, i'm just so f***ing lazy to update of what's happening in my life anymore....

Till i feel like penning down my thoughts, meooooowwwww......

Something 'PERSONAL'
Hi! My name is Tan Gumpy. I'm Hers Truly 'PERSONAL' Assistant. She can't live without me, and She will never go and do without me. Not that She really depend on me, but i just help to keep Her dry. Ehemm... I think, that's too PERSONAL to get there.

I'm not always this skinny. I'm normally covered with cotton-like clothes, like the ones on my head. That's about to go too if, She has to go. Most of the times, i'll be chuck un-handsomely in Her Ooohhh-s0-messy drawer.

And when She's feeling lazy, that's where my assistance comes in.

I have to help Her reply Her email correspondence lah, do quotations lah and this update pon i have to do...

Now, i'm trying to figure out Her schedule for installation and sorts. Haiz...

At times, when i try to hide from Her...

Because... other than doing Her paperwork and stuffs, i become a Tea-Lady. Have to make Her a drink and whatever shits lah. An today, She feels like drinking Horlicks. Phhhoooiii!!!

Oooppss!!! There's a phone call. "Yes, hello, Good Morning. Who? Siti? Siti is busy now. Who am I? I'm Grumpy Tan the Toilet Roll. Don't know?!! You everyday use me also you don't know ah?!!" *Slams the phone*

Some people are best hanged up than hanged on... That's about the shitty stuffs that i have to do for Her lor. So now, "Everyone Will Know What She Did Last Summer!!!" She does nothing the whole day but camwhoring as usual. Especially these days when Hers Truly Boss is out of town.

I'm a PERSONAL stuffs, but i'm being shared sometimes among colleagues. She really have to keep me to herself to make me really PERSONAL.

CamWhores!!!

A quick note:

Dear Mr Tan Gumpy,

There is no such thing as PERSONAL anymore. Even Watson Your Personal Store is no longer PERSONAL as everyone gets to know what I buy over the counter...

Love;

Yours Truly....

My Parents 33rd Anniversary
Yesterday was the day my parents got married and they were blessed with 3 offsprings.

I got a call from Doink saying that mum's not cooking and will be eating out, hence asking me to join along. I have totally forgotten about their Big Day if not for Doink (but apparently, Doink forgot about it too...) and not to mention Frat - someone who also do not know anything...

So we had dinner at Toa Payoh's HDB Hub - Fork & Spoon. My Mum and Dad, lil Sarah, Kiddo, Hubby, Doink, Frat and Yours Truly... It's a small family affair but it was obviously a joyous dinner.

To Mama and Papa, Happy 33rd Anniversary. May you have many many more years like this ahead. Love you both alot. Mmmuuaaahhhh!!!!

Do You Love Your Man Or Just Lust After Him?
What better way to answer this question...

It's 60% Love and 40% Lust

You and your guy are hot for one another, but you've also got a bit of a love thing going on.

Action Speaks Louder - As Frat Would Say It

One at a time please... First thing first, coming into the empty office has been usual. Boss is always not around until lunchtime. IT Manager is scheduled in and out of office whenever he needs to. Leaving me alone in the office managing the calls and all other paperworks. Today, i have loads to clear for some projects. Mc Connell Dowell, an Australian based company has big orders to get me settled with no lunch. Bulls!!! Lunch is anytime at my liberty. I AM my boss's secretary!

Let's go through the quotes and the confirmed purchase order of network systems and lines for this Sentosa IR Project. Hmmm... Looks like somethings not right here.

Arrrrggghhhh!!! No resources at Sentosa??!!! And they need to move in site full swing before National Day!!! Cabling takes ages for SingTel contractor to get the patch up done. Gawd!!!

I have got to get this straighten up. Ms Inez Clement, MIS Manager for this company that i have been managing is a nice lady. But if she were to hear that her Sentosa Project is going to get hault up by some unmotivated labourers who take their own sweet time to patch up the copper cables, she's going to be pissed!!!

Errggh... Just how am i going to pacify her that everything will come close as scheduled? Boss is unreachable at some Pulau Bukom or Pulau Ular for a meeting. That's another big project... Well, hell! I'm just going to give Inez a call myself then.

And Gawd!!! My supplier is raising their price on me. Damn you Poh. Damn you!

I had enough of this hiccups. I shall hand over this price increase to my Boss and let him deal with our supplier accordingly. Too much ah this Poh! Ahhh... i'm going to have my booze now.

Caffeine is the only thing that keeps me saint. When i'm all stressed up, this mug and it's content gives me the boost to start the day all fresh again. Boss's not back yet? Hmmm...

I'll take a peek at this gossip mag first then and shall get back to work later, till he stepped in.

So, what's your excuse for not doing yours?!!

He's Home
My dad is finally backed from Indonesia today. A trip he made alone to visit my relatives who are still stuck there at Bawean Island with no possibilities of migrating due to documentation problems.

>>Bawean is an island of Indonesia located approximately 200 km north of Surabaya in the Java Sea. The name comes from Sanskrit which means "there is sunlight". It is approximately 15 km in diameter and is circumnavigated by a single narrow road. Bawean is dominated by an extinct volcano at its center that rises over 650 m above sea level. The islands population is around 65,000. Approximately 40,000 live in the capital of Sangkapura and the rest live in small villages scattered around the island.<<

I'm lucky I have been there to at least visit and see their lifestyle. I only wished they turn back their wishes and hopes of ever leaving their peaceful land. A land with no worries, no stress, no racism, no bills and best, no expectations. They may have to toil their lives planting and pruning and toggling hard work to earn a living, but hey, everyone there owns either their own land or bungalows. Yes! Land and bungalows. Land of padi fields, crops and vegs. House made of stone though barely furnished inside. Their pedestrian pavements are covered with marbles. MARBLES STONES!!! Which of course here, is a costly damn tile to even build for your flooring depending on the grade of the marbles. Their ash trays are even made of Marbles and so are their side table, the body of their bedside lamp, wall mirror and much more... What do we own other then a luxurious car? We live in a crampy HDB full of bills, debts and taxes! The air we breathe in is beginning to get more and more toxic with the mass of pollutants everywhere.

There, the air is fresher, like you've never breathe before. The land is greener like you've never seen before. No refinineries, industries and heavy machineries. The place where my relatives are calling it their home is an island tad bigger than our country land. You travel by a 3hr ferry from Surabaya, Indonesian. The ferry only departs from Gresik terminal to Sangkapura terminal (Bawean) on Wednesdays and from Sangkapura to Gresik on Sundays. Any other day, you have to ride on a fishing tongkang with no more than 20 pax, cramping together like sardines riding the rough Java Sea for a journey of 8hrs long. I can't imagine taking that ride. Even on a 3hrs big ferry is long enough to get me nauseated throughout. 8hrs on tongkang? Never mind, thank you.

Sangkapura Ferry Terminal by Sunset

The best of my visit to my aunts there was the 45min 4-wheel drive to the waterfalls. I think it's called the Teraga Kastoba, a Crater Lake, which to some believed that if you swim in it, you will become cursed and die. No, I didn't swim and never did try to dismiss any folklore... Just a leg dipped in the water.

Teraga Kastoba - Crater Lake

Trekking up is of course needed to get to the better part of it and mind you, it wasn't an easy walk up the river. But it was well worth it and the rest of my families and Yours Truly really enjoyed it. Other best moments is like having lost our way in padi fields, going through a larger than life Bull that so happen to be grazing on our path and nobody, not even my big sized uncle dares to shoo it away because of its larger than us size. Hilarious but wholesome fun!

There are loads to share about on that trip of mine but that's pretty much I can relate for now. I'm just glad my dad is back safely as he wasn't too well when he left. He got the whole family worrying for him that throughout his trip, we never stop calling him to ask how he's been doing and sort. Will be dropping by my Mum's to have a peek at my dad today and see what goodies he had brought back home for us.

Next year, if God's willing, I will make a trip back there if my dad is going again. That time round, I’ll bring my hubby along to get a taste of nature with 'hand-catch' steamed fish, 'backyard' fried chicken and 'you-just-had-a-pat' lamb chop on the menu. Hehehe... I think, I won't let him lose his appetite. I'll just keep mum about the whereabouts of his food supplies...

Hey! I came earlier than i thought i would be! Hehehe... Let's just say that i'm having FREEDOM at work now as THE BOSS just left the building and i feeeeeeeel like 'Crapping'. Tsk...

WORK : So far, so good. Can't complain more. Officially, i'm the only BABE in the company of 3 after my BDM left her designation. So, let's just say that i'm the apple of everyone's eyes. Yehehe... Being new in the line added +++ advantages as i can ask around before getting any finalisation done. I was told recently in a short catch up with the bosses that work performances from me is beyond imagination. For a moment when the news of having to be 'One Man Short' would mean that i wouldn't be able to cope with all the projects and sales that needs to be hand over in due time. But for the period where my BDM had left, i manage to take things one at a time with the her help (???) through MSN!!! Glorious work!!!

In short, the boss is very happylah (of course). Because at a later part II, i found out, he's not a very hands on person! Bleargh!!! Anyway, I feel very motivated for all the praises he had stored for me, but that lasted me only for a mere 10 seconds for on a last note, he mentioned not to celebrate yet, as i have a nong nong nong way to go. Cheett... He say, "...to save it for later". Hmmm...

LIFE : Been good. The sunshine's shining bright (not brightly but... bright) on me. A little downcast some days with really heavy rain, but the sun's always back again in time to secure the mood. I thank God for that. Been out with some friends to some place that brings me and hubby back down Memory Lane. Sooo awkward at first, listening to music, singing our hearts out, shaking our legs to the rythm of the music. Once in awhile when our eyes met, we just shook our heads and laughed to the 'cockyness' display we showed to our them. Hahaha... but at the end of the day, we enjoy the most of it which is - the company of ourselves (both hubby and i).

$$$ : The Summer Sale is giving me a hard time to go out. Temptations is everywhere in Big Bold Banner that spells 'SALE' in RED every each time i turn around!!! My mailer has been flooded with GAP, Victoria Secrets and many more Private Sale invitations. Arrrggh!!! I gotta get a grip on myself. I just so like bought a $50 (discounted) pair of Timberland kids hiking boots for Kiddo which i know he will probably grow out of it in a years time. But i thought that was cheap considering the actual was at $109 (even at $50, i wouldn't buy for myself). I'm a cheapo person, you can say that again. I AM!!! And proud of it. I would scavenge the cheapest buy i can get and would influence it to my other half. But alas! The other half ain't nothing like me lah. No need to mention the other quarter. That one WORST! He wants what he wants ONLY and NOTHING else. My mum and hubby is my best shopping partner! One - what she shop, i can use/wear, the other - what i want to use/wear, can shop for me. Hehehe...

Anyway, that's all for now until my next entry.

P.s
*Glad that Ketam is back in shape. Didn't really look like she's going to be 'expired' from her last entry (hope i will be like that when my turn comes - only not feeling sick but healthy as a Crab, wrong, as a Goat) but i sure am counting to the days "...where new life begins..."

A month had passed since my last entry. And so much had happen. Gosh, how time flies...

Work has been good so far. Picking up a lot of things and i'm beginning to love it. My BDM had left the company mid May, so i'm left with alot of pending sales and quotes which is currently picking up to be much of a Done Deal. I was fussing about when i heard about her decision as she was my lunching and shopping 'kakis'. Now that she's gone, i'm left alone to lunch with either my IT Manager or myself.

But that sad thought of lunching alone has changed for i have finally found my ex-schoolmates who happens to be working around my work place. For my Lost-Found friends, "Yahooo!!!" we finally met and had lunch together. Pics will be uploaded in the weekends, with God's will (if im not busylah, ok babes) You all never change a bit (besides growing 'bigger' and 'taller'), hehehe...
Thumbs up to you Gerl for making time to come down all the way from HQ to our meeting place (which is, "God knows where..." to you) hehe.

P.s: Didn't mean to leave you out of our lunch appointment. Just didn't think it would be convenient for you to travel down there. (Lain kali tak buat lagi, promise...)

Freelance manucuring service has given a positive outcome, with many more appointments in the weekends here and there. I'm trying not to take too much appointments as i do not feel like occupying my weekends with sub-jobs all the time.

My husband's niece is finally going to UK with the school tour, after months of anticipating. She's probably ecstatic right now, dreaming and drooling of all sorts. Hehehe... Need to loan her our luggage and bomber jacket as she has found out Manchester has drop near 6 degrees. On the whole, i wish her a pleasant, wonderful (she'll definitely won't forget) and safe journey throughout.

Counting down the days to the arrival of my Crabby Junior Little. Wishing both Momma and Baby healthy and strong not like a Crab for this case (one stepped, kena crush) but like an Ox for once (one stepped, confirm kena butt-heading balik), yehehehe....

What else? Oh yes, AC MILAN RULES!!!! (sorry Baby, for the lost of Victory)

As for me, i would probably sign out now cause the Big Boss is back and that means.....

NOTHING.

Hehehe... Till my next entry. Yes, you are so right! That would possibly be the end of next month. Hehehe...

April has ended. How time flies... I had a wonderful weekend. I finally went to JB on Sunday after 2 and a half years not setting foot there. You must wonder why? After all that news of crimes accross the peninsula, hubby just dread driving to JB.

That entry was a hitch ride with hubby's friend. So much to see. Hehehe... like there's really anything new. Everything's the same! No changes. The road still lobang-lobang, infact it was even bigger i think. Traffic's still poluted with air and mass of vehicles and peeps. Fashion changes a bit-lah. Not so minah and mamat. The only thing new that i saw, is the new (but still under-construction) Malaysia Kastam. Besides that we had dinner at Singgah Sana. Grab a few DVDs and then head home as we reach there pretty late and it's a working day for all of us (oh why didn't Labour Day fall on Monday). Not only did we reached SG at close to 11pm, we reached home finally at 2am. Why? Hubby drop by to a friend's house to finish some work. By then we were extremely exhausted, but as we got home, i and hubby managed to watch one of the DVD that we bought.

Next day, work was usual and i'm getting the hang of it. More task given and i'm up for new challenges already. It's just that i'm not hungry for too much sales yet. Let me get the momentum at pace first before i jump to another hard task.

The following day is Labour Day. Woke up at 10am!!! Took my shower and went for my marketing. On my way, called Doink to ask if she had any plans, but she said she's going out with Mum and Aunt Ma to Arab Street (Chet!!! Bedebah! Si Bagedil nih tak ajak!!! Dah tak kerja wkend pun tak reti lagi ke?!!)meeting up at 11am. Doink asked if i want to join. Memandangkan time dah pukul 10.30 and they are meeting up at 11, i gave it a pass and said not confirm.

I sulked the whole time i got back home and hubby asked why? I told him about their plans, then hubby blurted, "dah, go get ready. i'll send you there." Yipeeee!!!!! After that, i had a great time especially with my precious niece, Sarah. As per Doink's entry, everything has more or less been told only plus is, i managed to get the lappie backpack that i had wanted at a great done deal of S$51!!! Yes!!! And it's fully padded....

Oh!!! And that $8/suit fabric at one of the shops.... Kwang! Kwang! Kwang!

Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day.

Is it the raining season? It's been raining the past few days. Hubby is not too thrill though he's always the only person that embrace this weather gracefully (murah rezeki weather) because he is down with a continuous flu. Hasn't been feeling too well lately. And he's always at his worst when the flu bug gets to him. Poor Baby...

Then again, it's good news at work. Out of the whole 500 formality emails which my manager always think its redundant, paid off. Finally! I was almost at my wits end trying to improvise my correspondence, verbal conversations and product knowledge. At the end of the day (which is right now!) i felt totally good!!! Then again maybe i could converse at my pace today because i am all alone in the office. No worries about anyone hearing me fumbling with my words...
Thank God...

Well, since the day has end for me, it's time for a lil retail theraphy to reward myself for another job well done!!!

Yahoooooooo!!!!!! Shoes.... here i come.......

Two weeks had passed. It seemed so fast ever since i had started working in my new workplace. Seronok sey!!! Tapi yang tak seronoknya apabila diri ini masih tergapai-gapai dalam dunia IT. Fuhyooo... Bahasaku pon!!! Kherkherkher....

Anyways, few good news for me. Even though i am no longer working as a manicurist for a shop that supports local magazines, i am still being asked for to take the shots out of freelancing. So, what does this means? It means that throughout my patience and dedications in giving the best in the media industries, is appreciated and recognized.

Two days ago, an Art Director for a Magazine, called to ask if i will be free or willing to take up an advertorial photoshoot, i hesitated but initially i took on the job. I felt glad after that. Hubby gave his support too in allowing me to do freelancing. So, expect to see more jobs engagement with this director. Alhamdulillah...

Customer basis, not to worry. Have a few in hand that regularly calls to asked to do home service. Another alhamdulillah... Instead of pocketing the sum to the company, i will be pocketing it to my pants. Ishx3... Kayax3...

Last weekend was my first weekend that i finally got to spent with my family, my Kiddo's soccer tournament. Though i have no interest in soccer, i tagged along to show my presence. Can't call that support (i think). So, here's to more coming weekends. Hehehe...

Introducing Braveheart Football Association.

The Mummy showing her presence. The girls are just out to have fun.

Kalau dengan si kecik pulak, asyik nak cari makan aje. Until bloated, cari tempat nak ZZzz pulak. Hehehe...

This face is wherever the Kiddo is for soccer.

It was really a hot hot weekend. A late shower at the end of the tournament but all that was worthwhile for Kiddo reigns Champion.

The Champions with the sponsor for that event.

Well, that's for last weekend. This weekend is a spent-at-home day. Laundries to get wash and done, SA1's around the corner. Bila part nih je lemau i dibuatnya. Weak from screaming and repeating myself from saying, "PLEASE GO AND DO YOUR REVISION!!!"

Mommas out there, sound familiar to you? Yeah, those dreadful seasons are back again and this is just the begining...

IT Lingo anyone?
2nd day at work... Fuhyooo.... fening2 lalatz member. So many abbreviations to learn. Not to mention the definitions of each!!!

The husband say, "You can do it! You can do it!" YES I CAN!!! This IT scope of mine is tough for someone who has no knowledge of IT before(not a single bit). But i am very greatfull with this company that willingly gives me the opportunity to scale from the very bottom(i really mean bottom like in the very inside of your arse!!!) with the dedicated help of the Sales/IT manager himself.

Patience, perseverance and performance is all i have to describe him. Every minute of his time wasn't spare for answering stupid questions of mine like, "What is ADSL/DSL?" etc.... Even at this moment of mine, i am still trying to figure out what i had just learnt today. 2nd day babe, lagi Honeymoon katakan.

Insight on the first day:

9am - Reach destination (Orang tertentu lum sampai lagi! Sia2 tolak orang sampai nak jatuh kat mrt). Wait... and wait... and wait... haiz...
9.30am - Bagedil nih baru sampai. Showed to my desk and being introduced to the rest of the team members which compromises of Charlie(& The Chocolate Factory)no lah, the Sales Manager, Ling, my another Sales Manager and Larry, the IT Manager.
10am - Settled down. Get all passport(ids, keys, tap card). Break ice with Ling.
10.30am - The ZZzzz Monster almost got to me when Ling was explaining the nature of my scope, company's profile, who do i liaise with at SingTel, who are the agents, authorised dealer/distributor and so on.
11.45am - Got out from the ice breaker and was finally given a real task. To quote prices for our SMEs. Reply correspondence to clients on our services, at the same time introducing myself.
12.20nn - Invited to have a quick lunch with my managers. Members belanja. Konon Welcome Lunch lah. Accepted.
1.15pm - Freshies katakan... Nak cepat balik kerja. Anyways banyak lagi nak kena faham.
2pm onwards till the end of the day, prepare quotations aje. But so far, I AM LOVING IT every bit of the 'WorldWideWeb'.

Today, learn product knowledge. This, i really have to absorb soon or i will make a fool out of myself introducing the product(staggering about it) to all the IT managers in our SMEs .

"Don't worry, i have confidence in you. So put tonnes of it in yourself. Down the road, we will be rewarded. But try not to take too long." the manager said. Very motivating...

So i say to myself once again...

YES I CAN! YES I CAN! YES I CAN

It's The Holidays...Again
Tomorrow's Good Friday. Wow!!! Pocketku koyak Mak!!! Let's see... Iman's birthday is tomorrow, my niece, Sarah's birthday is on the 8th and lil frat's birthday is the day after. Soon after that on Monday, i'll be starting my new job.

I have a looong break for this as i have finally left that blardy old work place with that evil boss of mine. How peaceful... I can't wait to be at my new work place. It sure offer me a good prospect in times to come. Syukur alhamdulillah. Berkat doa suami dan keluarga, rezekiku disana akhirnya. Come to think of it, i seriously have to get use to waking up in the mornings to avoid that rush hour traffic that literally spells 'MASSIVE'.

Working outfit... fret no more, i'll just have to mix match whatever leftovers that i still keep for the past 3 decades. Orbit?! Apa orbitnya benda yang dah old fashion? Isn't vintage the fashion norm nowadays? People are wearing vintage dresses, grandmas pleated skirts/tops and ruffle blouses to the office hokay. Alah, doesn't matter the work wearlah. Most important thing, i learn fast and well

Eeee.... bestnya!!!
